Products

Products are the items or services you sell. Define them with names, prices, and optional tax rates. Products can be reused across all invoices for consistent pricing and faster data entry.

What Are Products in the Invoice App?

Products are the goods or services you include on invoices. Each product has a name, price, and optional fields such as description, tax rate, unit, SKU, and stock tracking. When you add a product to an invoice, its price and tax are pulled in automatically.

How to Add a Product

Go to Products
From the Invoice app sidebar, click Products to open the products list.
Click Add Product
Click the Add Product or Create button to open the product form.
Fill in the Fields
Enter the product name, price, and any optional fields. See the Product Form Fields table below for reference.
Save
Click Save to create the product. It will appear in the products list and can be selected when creating invoices.

Product Form Fields

Field Description
Product Name Required The display name of the product. Shown on invoices.
Description Optional Additional notes or product description. Can be included on invoices.
Price Required The default selling price. Used as the rate when the product is added to an invoice.
Tax Optional Default tax rate for the product. Applied to invoice line items.
Unit Optional Unit of measure (e.g., Each, Hour, Kg). Shown on invoices.
SKU Optional Stock keeping unit or product code. Useful for reference and reporting.
Track Stock Checkbox When enabled, stock quantity is tracked. Stock decreases when the product is used on invoices.
Stock Quantity Optional Initial or current stock level. Only applicable when Track Stock is enabled.

Product List Grid

Product List Columns
Product Name
The display name of the product.
SKU
Product code or stock keeping unit.
Price
Default selling price.
Tax
Default tax rate applied to the product.
Stock
Current stock quantity (for products with stock tracking enabled).
Status
Active or Inactive. Inactive products are hidden from invoice selection.

How to Import Products

Use the Import option in the Products section to bulk add products from a CSV file. Download the template, fill in your product data (name, price, description, etc.), and upload. Ensure the file matches the required format. Duplicate SKUs may be rejected.

How to Edit or Delete Products

To edit a product, open it from the products list and update the fields. Changes apply to new invoices; existing invoices retain the values at the time they were created.

To delete a product, use the delete action from the products list. Products that have been used on invoices cannot be deleted. You can mark them as Inactive instead to hide them from new invoices.

Stock Adjustment for Products

For products with stock tracking enabled, you can adjust stock from the product detail or the stock adjustment screen. Stock decreases automatically when the product is used on an invoice. Use adjustments to correct discrepancies or add opening stock.
