POS & Orders

The Touch POS is designed for fast, efficient order taking. Place dine-in, takeaway, or counter orders, track them through the kitchen, and serve your customers quickly.

Touch POS Overview

The Touch POS is optimised for touch screens and tablets. It lets you:

  • Select order type: Dine-in, Takeaway, or Counter
  • Choose a table for dine-in orders
  • Search for customers by phone number
  • Browse menu items by category and add them to the cart
  • Apply discounts and coupon codes
  • Place the order and print a kitchen ticket (KOT)

How to Place an Order

Open Touch POS
From the sidebar, click Touch POS. The POS screen opens with the menu on the left and an empty cart on the right.
Select Order Type
Choose Dine-in, Takeaway, or Counter. For dine-in, select the table from the list of available tables.
Find Customer (Optional)
Search for an existing customer by phone number or name. Add a new customer if needed. This helps track visit history.
Add Items to Cart
Browse menu categories and click items to add them. Adjust quantities as needed. The cart shows running totals.
Apply Discount or Coupon (Optional)
Click "Apply Discount" to add a percentage or fixed discount. Click "Apply Coupon" to enter a coupon code. Both are optional.
Place Order
Review the order and click "Place Order". The order is created with status Pending. A KOT prints if auto-print is enabled.

Order Statuses

Order Status Flow
Pending
Order placed, awaiting kitchen action. Items can still be added or removed.
Preparing
Kitchen is working on the order. Item changes are limited.
Ready
Food is ready to be served. Ready for billing.
Completed
Order finished and paid. Shows in history.
Cancelled
Order cancelled before completion.
On Hold
Order paused temporarily. Can be resumed later.

Active Orders Board

The Active Orders page shows all orders that are currently in progress (Pending, Preparing, Ready). Each order shows:

  • Order number and type
  • Table number (for dine-in)
  • Items ordered and total amount
  • Time since order was placed
  • Buttons to update status or print KOT

Use this page to track what is happening in your restaurant in real time.

Holding and Resuming Orders

If a customer steps away or needs more time, you can put an order on hold. The order status changes to On Hold. When they return, click Resume to restore the previous status.
